electric windows driver side switches stopped working seat altea 1.9 diesel 2007. Windows were ok until car was valeted. Drivers side electric window switches stopped working. Realize probably water related due to valet. Now is it just switches or more ?. I read elsewhere possibly comfort convenience module ( guy asked if carpets were wet , which they are) . Is that module on floor on a seat altea xl ?

let the car dry out first and see what happens

It could be the switch on door , or broken wire between car and door with opening/ shutting all the time or the floor got soaked

Have you checked the fuse ?

If carpets are wet, is the scuttle full of water and choked up with leaves etc ? This is the area below windscreen and under the bolts of the windscreen wiper motor etc This is bad for blocking up and the age of your car may well be

Niall . Thanks for swift reply. Carpets are soaked due to an over enthusiastic valet. Im will get switches out and hopefully once car has dried out they will start working again. Fuses are ok .

Windows fixed . Mechanic replaced waterlogged drivers side switches . All ok now. Valet also managed to soak the traction control switch causing light to come on intermittently on dash. Car drying out now.
