Best engine for passat and year

an a4 1.9 awx 130 pd tdi, b6 shape, so pre 2004. not a passat of that shape, do your research to find out why, unless you like wasting money fixing things.

Im thinking about this two:

Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI Sport 4dr

Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI SE 4dr

I fallen in love in this first one to be honest. What you think guys? 2007 but 2.0 tdi.

yeah, buy it, lovely cars, never go wrong and you will get far better mpg than they state,

the passat b6 has many many problems. read about them and ask yourself if you really want to take one on. why do you think they are so cheap. an a4 b6, 2001 - 2004 with the awx engine is a very good car, much better than the later passat. like i said, do your research and don't buy one.

^^^ As above. Forget TDi of that era. Go with tFSI 2.0L petrol. Yes, lower MPG by 5-10MPG overall, but many places petrol now cheaper than Derv. And there's the better performance -- 196bhp. And you can up performance too. I've only gone to Stage1 but that gives me 232bhp without affecting consumption
