Hello all, I need some advise from anyone that can help.

    2004 A4 2.5 TDi. BDG Engine

I went to swap the rocker cover on the left hand side head due to leaking oil. After removing the cover I noticed that one of the lobes on the exhaust cam the steel band that sit on the lobe has split and is moving slightly. Luckily it is all there in one piece and hasn't done any damage as far as I can tell. So I need a few questions answering before I go and spend any money.

1, Can I swap just the one cam out or do I need to swap them as a pair, inlet and exhaust cam?

2, Can some one confirm the part number for the cam, its the exhaust cam on the left hand side head, the one with the needle injector. I have part number OEM-059109009BH, FAI-C277

3, Are FAI cams any good, has anyone currently got them in? Or can someone recommend another brand?

4, I know this might be a hard one but can someone look at the pictures and tell me the condition of the other cams. They look ok to me but without other new cams to compare to I don't know.

FAI, i won't use anything supplied by them. my factors sent me an fai fan belt for my old series landy, i sent it straight back. reason being, i had an fai head gasket blow apart after a week, cost me a lot of time to put it right, and had an fai water pump fail that cost me a lot of time and money. luckily the timing belt didn't jump enough to do any damage but i still had to do both jobs under warranty. these are the only 2 times i have ever had a part fail that i have supplied. their attitude, stuff it... they are cheap for a reason.

You need to change cams in pairs if you go for aftermarket, the genuine cams are not hollow anymore. I might have a few cams available, let me have a look at the garage. TPS/dealer wants 300+ VAT for a cam...

Ok thanks for the offer, let me know tomorrow what you have if anything. Will the genuine solid cams have a different part number from the hollow ones? I take it mine are from new and therefor hollow?
