RS5 TDI Concept - any news?

In January the auto press were invited to drive the RS5 TDI concept, a number of videos hit YouTube (see link below) and looked quite interesting. But I haven't heard anything since?

Does anyone have an update on when we might see this TDI engine in a production car? 0-60 in 4.0 secs in a TDI shod car sounded awesome!

Unfortunately Audi aren't renowned for bringing their concept ideas into production that quickly.. Having said that the first car to get the 48v e-Turbo system will be the Q7 in the form of the SQ7:

I don't think Audi are convinced enough to launch the technology in an S or RS format for the A4/5 yet, but I could be wrong.. I am hoping they might offer it in the new S4 but I won't hold my breath..

Thanks for the update AGW82, I agree it would be nice to see an S4 with it, fingers crossed!

And they havent even considered their 3.0 bi-turbo engine (from the SQ5) either.
I expect that wouldn't help S5 sales very much though!

Looks like they are going to use the tri-turbo 3.0TDI in the 2016 Q5.....

If Audi were to use it in the A4/A5 platform I would have thought it would be offered as a Diesel variant of the S series rather than making it available for the standard car. At 354Bhp the tri-turbo TDI would sit quite nicely along side the reworked 350Bhp Supercharged V6 that will supposedly power the next S4..
