    Hi All

After last nights embarrassing over take up hill and going into limp mode I have a question about the VNT control rod

Now its out of limp mode and I have my vacuum back I thought I would take a look at the vnt rod movement to check vacuum is good

Can any one tell me if when the engine is started the rod should pull upto the top ish (that's what it looks like anyway)

Then when you raise the revs above 2500 rmp it should drop down slowly as it does ??

    Is that correct

Code read as 17965 - Charge pressure / Checked all pipe work fine / ordered N75 Valve just in case / and who knows what the turbo like inside but its just had a double dose of millers in the tank

    Thanks in advance

In the vast majority of cases, 17965 is a sticking VNT system, the rod is doing what it should by your description.

    Hi Crasher

    Thanks for the reply

The turbo has had a good thrashing today (4th to 3rd gear 4000 revs) with plenty of black smoke

Also car has had a full service today as a treat so hope she will keep going as she always HAS done

Might be a good ideas that I get up to 3000 rpm more often as its rare I ever go up that end.....
