Vulcan bomber XH558 is due to take off from Doncaster this afternoon and head over west midlands / East Anglia areas before returning to Doncaster. Well worth keeping an eye and ear out for if you're down that way, pretty impressive sight!

I heard then saw yesterdays flight over Wearside and the old Usworth airfield (now Nissan) where one of the other Vulcans landed in 1982 and is now displayed.

The one advantage of living directly under the flight path into/out of Manchester is being able to see things like this from the comfort of my armchair.

I saw XH558 flyover on Saturday.

First and (sadly) I suspect the last time I'll see her in the air.

Confused - are you telling us or asking us?

Where in York have you seen it?

It's a pretty distinctive plane by all accounts, in terms of look and noise.

It certainly is. But, I know an older ex-RAF Gentleman who swore he saw a Vulcan on final Approach at Heathrow a few years ago. The odd thing was it was painted all white.

Turned out it was Concorde 'Speedbird 03' inbound from a test flight. How we all chuckled at that one. We even sent the old chap a Specsavers voucher!
