Just got it back after nearly 2 weeks away!

The chassis no is an 8, pre facelift.

Tried the blue grommet genuine Audi lead and still no joy. I don't think the AMI is faulty though as it works with a memory stick.

Bit annoying really. Not really sure what to try next. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    So you have MMI 2G.

The blue cable works fine in my other car, AMI units do go faulty however so this may be your next option to explore.

    Hi,
I have a Sept 58 B8 A4 with 2g MMI high and AMI which sounds as if it is the same as yours. I had the same problem as you with my iPod and tried all of the adapters (genuine apple and others)and the various leads and combinations and finally found the right one that worked perfectly on mine

It is a genuine Audi part, number 4F0 051 510 AC. it has the lightning connection so no need to for any adapter. To save you spending a great deal of money on the various leads as I did , I would pop into your Audi dealership and ask to test the part number and buy from them, about £30 I think

Hope this helps to solve your issue.

    RESOLVED!

After much searching here and the rest of the internet, I thought I would need a different lead: 4F0 051 510L. I even drove 40 mins to an Audi dealership today to collect said lead, only to find they had gone home and not left one with reception as promised.

Then I stumbled across this thread: Important ami update online DOWNLOAD (don't ask why I didn't see it before).

I downloaded the file here: http://www.audi.de/etc/medialib/ngw/...userupdate.zip, followed the instructions.

Hey presto! Every one of the 5 leads I currently own works

Thanks to the forum for helping me sort. Is it worth a moderator making this a 'resolved' thread?

    Thanks.

Great thread hoping this works for my similar sounding issue. Have ordered up the USB cable to try and update the AMI.
    Cheers
