New Owner Audi A6 BiTDI

Morning All,

Yesterday, I picked up an Audi A6 BiTDI Saloon black edition. This is my first Audi A6 and I am truly in love , the car was collected from Five Oaks Audi in Billingshurst and to be total honest their customer service and professionalism is outstanding. The car was ordered by the sales manager and comes with a decent specification.

I have wasted too much money on changing cars over the years but have also enjoyed owning some reasonably quick cars and they include

I honestly believe this car will involve a long term relationship as it ticks so many boxes, the drive home yesterday was simply amazing with every mile covered involved a mixture of refinement, luxury, comfort, performance and decent economy (44mpg).

As mentioned above we sold our BMW M135i yesterday, although this was a very fast car, it lacked the refinement and the road noise inside the car was simply too much to live with and it felt substandard it all area's when compared with the Audi A6. I can't praise this Audi A6 BiTDI enough and since a promise was made never to return to diesel cars, this car has exceeded all expectations.

Nice wagon. Please tell me you are only up at 526am because you are on your way to work and not sitting waiting to wash the car! Must say I'm as bad though, I've been up since 430 and I'm waiting on a reasonable hour to wash the car in order that the neighbours don't think I'm a complete mentalist.

Yes, I was up at 4:32 this morning! not because of the excitement of washing the car but because we have loads of birds in the tree's by us and they make the most wonderfully loud noise from about 4:30am onwards this time of the year. I did however wash the car at 7:30am this morning :-)

Shaun out of interest your 44mpg you got was that motorway driving?

it was a mixture of driving which did include the M23 and M25. When I purchased the car on friday from Five Oaks Audi, I reset all the counters to zero and from that point I measured the mpg.

The long term mpg which was also set to zero showed 48.9 mpg after covering almost 300 miles in less that 1 day. below is the journey which we covered, it started at Audi then up to Birds Garage to trade in the M135i then back home. The following day we went from home to bluewater then back home.

The mpg has suprised me as my previous cars BMW X3 35D, BMW 120d and Nissan X-Trail DCI never achieved this! after covering this distance we still have just under 2/3 of a tank left.

Is the bi available in the A4 B8.5's or do we have to wait for the B9 ?

I must say this seems incredible mpg. I haven't done any motorway yet but the best I have got in 36mpg. I wonder why such the difference

Is the bi available in the A4 B8.5's or do we have to wait for the B9 ?

It's not available on the A4... There isn't any news about it being available at launch of the B9 either...

One rumour that is going round is a diesel powered B9 S4 which might have a BI-TDI engine, possibly with a 48v electrical system and an e-turbo... But that's purely speculation.. Nothing official from Audi..

Groucho, how many miles did it take before your average settled at about 36/37 mpg and what do you normally have it in Efficiency, comfort or Audi or for that matter dynamic?

i am currently average 31 to 34 mpg but have only done a few hundred miles. Similar driving to you i.e A and B roads
