Hi all, recently purchased my Tiptronic Quattro, EML came on at 5000rpm+ and went off when speed decreased to 30/40mph approx. Cam position sensor1 bank 1, O2 sensor 1 bank 1(pre-cat), misfire cylinder 1 and 2. All faults intermittent. Runs like a dream with light throttle and autobox is silky smooth. Engine now "clicks" rapidly at 4200rpm+ with WOT and refuses to upshift without having to lift off accellarator . Swopping around sensors and coils has made no difference to symptoms. 128k, so potentially injectors/ coils/ plugs/ carbon build up, manifold intake flap, cam sensors, O2 sensors, hydraulic cam adjusters OR( hopefully not)......Chain guides/tensioner.

I need someone who knows this engine inside out and can advise/ diagnose with vcds( hex+can)/ potentially repair

Thanks for having a search for us dude and posting the link. Was hoping there was someone on here that owns a 3.2fsi and has had upper cam chain issues, might live locally enough to lend there ear, that would VAG it for beer tokens to check timing, injectors and valve adjusters. I've booked it in with them for 23/05 11am to "have a listen". Didn't really fancy paying garage prices if I could avoid it.... I'll post there results.

Had you been closer I'd have happily done a scan for you, it is possible to find those registered VCDS users closest to you using the specific forum, but you may not have enough posts to contact them with a PM

(above pic) That was £59.00 well spent.....not. To anyone in the Lincolnshire area, don't bother using these "specialists". There mechanics can't undo screws( got home n did it myself in 20secs. Was expecting a full engine analysis( timing, injector flow/voltage, sensor checks etc....and got this instead) Waste of time!

And in other news, i've now stripped the inlet manifold off and removed both camshaft covers. No sign of wear or snappage on upper chain guides. Is there anyone nearby(ng31 9dn) that can lend me their camshaft alignment set so I can check the timing? Also, is there anyone here who has the Bentley manual for AUK engine
