Hi. I've had my A6 Avant 2008 since early April and it's been brilliant. This weekend I used the rear 12v adapter to power my camping fridge while on a few journeys and since then my remote central locking, keyless entry and keyless start have all been playing up.

First thing in the morning I have to unlock using the door key slot and this only unlocks the driver's door. I then have to start the engine with the key and then use the central locking button on the door to unlock the rest of the doors. For the rest of the day the various locking and starting features seem to work, but then fail again the following morning.

This has only happened for a couple of days, but it looks permanent at the moment. Have I managed to flatten one of my batteries with the fridge, or is is unrelated?

    Many thanks,

    Nick

the car will shut down certain systems if the cars battery reaches a set level to preserve power to start the engine. one of those being the central locking system.

I would question the state of your battery to be honest - although it is possible that you have just flattened it a bit. You could try giving the car a good long run with no consumers switched on, and see if that solves it.

Is the battery the original one?
