Timed circuit shutdown?

I’m wondering if there is a circuit that has a fixed shutdown time after ignition off regardless of load or CAN bus instruction? It would be handy to have 5/10min run-on for a couple of dash cams.

I know I could use something like the Power Magic Pro, but I’m only looking for circa 10min and don’t want to rely on another bit of kit if possible.

If I remember right there is a timer "terminal 15 shut down" which could be the same that shuts down radio after switching ignition off. Not tried particularly, but could be worth of checking with VCDS. Actually you could connect the cam to the radio/CD\DVD player. Don't know what happens when you lock the doors. It was (locking) supposed to shut also CAN to avoid the car doing this and that by itself...

I can’t find any details on it so maybe a simple timed circuit doesn’t exist… I don’t like the idea of tapping into anything variable. From memory I think you can power up the MMI without the ignition on while the doors are locked, but it might be a separate rail for the standby/quick power on feature.

you could put your own supply in straight from the battery using a timer relay.

I liked the 12.4v setting. Most of these devices like power magic pro etc. seem to have a 12.2v cut out (at best) which might be low enough to deep cycle the battery.

If it doesn’t work out I will give the timer relay a try
