    Hi all, i scanned the car (2005 1.6 bfs engine) the other day and it came back with:
    p1517 ecu power supply relay fault
    i have scoured the net and found 2 relays 109 and 248 i have checked under the dash and in the engine bay, i dont have either of these relays
    under dash from left to right are 53/100/empty/409/377 in the bottom row and 434 is directly above 377 and in engine bay i have 2 relays 100 and 429 can anyone help as i have looked everywhere and cannot find a deffinate answer. thanks for any help

    what problem do you have. did you clear the code and see if it came back ?
    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    the problem i have is a very irratic tick over which smooths out with the aircon on, i have scanned it 2-3 times over the last month and it always brings up p1517 ecu power suply relay

    The engine PCM supply relay is 429 in the engine bay, but I doubt it will be the cause of your rough idle.

    When you turn the aicon on, the engine PCM commands the throttle open a little to compensate for the extra load on the engine. So maybe your throttle body needs a clean. If the opening around the throttle plate is gummed up it could cause the rough idle and when you put the aircon on, the PCM is opening the plate a little more which causes the idle to smooth out. Just a thought.
