HI all, my car alarm kept going off for no reason found that the two batteries (varta CR 2/3 AH) in the siren have a live of 10yrs.
I have replaced these myself and so far no false alarms, you need to undo the three bolts and prise apart the 2 parts of the siren, de-solder where the power connector plugs in( 3 pins )so that the pcb can be removed to enable you to de-solder old batteries and solder in new ones in.
My car is a 54 plate.

Hi all Just to add now over a year later still working ok 05/05/16 alicecooper18

Are these re-chargeables or just a Lithium back-up cell?
