Greetings from sunny Cheshire!
Bought a really nice bodied Mk4 (2000) which runs well and has obviously been well looked after.
Have given it a good service and the only thing causing problems is the start up idle speed which is very low.
When it gets a bit warm (a few mins) it's fine and no problems.
Have had a good look here to see if I can see a similar problem relating to the throttle body.(not FBW).
Have stripped it down and cleaned it (not too much gunk in it) and put it back on.
Have tried to run adaption routine but keep getting the ERROR message. There is no sign of life at the TB.
There are 2 DTC's 00282 (V60 open circuit) and 01087 (basic setting not performed). I can clear the 00282 but keeps coming back but the 01087 is permanent.
I have checked the wiring from the ECU to the TB and all OK.
Does anybody know the pin votages/ohms at the TB plus so I can check what's coming from the ECU.
I see that the TB terminals 1 and 2 connect to ECU pins 66 & 59 which feeds the TB motor but I can't see any voltage there with ign ON.
I'm petty sure it's either TB or ECU problem but don't know which.
Has any body else had this problem and what's the solution other than a stiff drink after spending 2 days on it!
Any help much appreciated!
