    Hi

I've just purchased (from PF Jones) a Westfalia detachable towbar complete with dedicated wiring system for the latest version of the A6 (2014 onwards) and have a query regarding the connection of the electrics.

As well as the control box, the wiring kit comes with 2 wiring looms and upon reading the instructions you either use one or both of them depending upon the wiring preparation in the car. As this latest version of the A6 apparently is sold with towbar preparation, I would expect to only use the single loom that goes from the 13 pin socket to the control box & earthing points.

The problem I have is that the illustrations in the instruction manual do not resemble what is actually going on inside the car as far as the wiring and plugs go. To use just the single loom the instructions detail that you need to remove 2 connectors from what appears to be a stowage point inside the cay bay and connect them to the westfalia control box - I can't see these connectors but not sure if they are located somewhere else in the car?

Does anyone have experience / knowledge of fitting this type of electrical system to this car and can confirm if you only need to use one of the supplied looms or do you also have to use the second loom that comes with the kit that involves fitting fuses / connecting pins etc?

    Thank you.

    Neil
