I have a quote for warranty of my 04 A4 3.0 Quattro sport for £333 which seems good value with the backdrop that I am lacking confidence in the car from a engine perspective. So wondered what experiences people have with this firm or others like it..

    Cheers,

    Chris

My old man had to pay £4k to have a renault engine rebuilt after renault failed to do the cambelt properly. It took him over a year to get the payment from warranty direct to cover the repair cost. Which wasnt even the full cost.. so make of that what you will.

Saying that thought, renault also charge £400 for a rotary fan (one in the airvent/dash)...

    they're crap.

aftermarket extended warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on.

He's not Warranty Direct but Warranty Wise.

And I would 2nd avoiding warranty direct they left me high and dry on an MG ZT-T V6 10 years ago. Literally walked away from any recourse. The head mechanic there was very rude and looks for any reason to walk I could have contested but decided to trade it in to reduce my stress levels.

You can make your own insurance policy. First thing is to maintain your car on schedule and use the correct lubricants filters etc. Don't drive it like a getaway car. Get a biscuit tin and put say £20.00 a week into it. in 3 years you'll have 3 grand to spend if something goes wrong and if nothing goes wrong you'll have £3,000.00 for yourself and Mr Wilson gets bugger all
