CC Rear Parking sensors not working

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right thread or not.

I just bought a 11 CC and love it but the rear parking sensors don't seem to be working. When I press the sensor button and am in reverse I get one long beep then nothing , no matter how close to the object I am.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or is it a fault?

OK this may or may not be of any help. Firstly my car is an Alfa GT. The reversing sensors behaved in the exact same manner a yours. My car, other than not being a VW is a 2005 model so things may well be different. Anyway mine made a single long beep then silent because one of the four sensors had failed. Now how to tell..
If you put your car in reverse (press that sensor button, not a requirement in the Alfa) whilst the ignition is on (no engine running ) and go to each sensor in turn and listen closely (right next to the sensor). Now on mine a working sensor made a faint clicking noise, a bit like a Geiger counter might make but it was faint, the offending sensor was silent. I replaced it after removing the bumper with a new sensor. They have been working well for over four months now.
As I say yours may differ but it might be worth a try.
