    The standard speakers are pretty decent as is, so don't want to tinker too much with the existing set up just in case something don't fit back flush... shame Audi can't do it for me

    Hello everyone I can confirm that this can be done. I have done this with the *** subwoofer. you 1st of all need to change the long coding of your headunit with vcds. IF you have basic sound part of the code will read "FF00" this will need to be changed to "FF0A" which then makes the subwoofer pins in the back of the headunit live. (PLEASE NOT ALL HEADUNITS COME WITH SUBWOOFER PIN, THEY JUST NEED OT BE ACTIVATED LIKE THIS).

    EXAMPLE = 01730301FF0"0"000021111101000A00002F00020701000100 DE

    New code = 01730301FF0"A"000021111101000A00002F00020701000100 DE

    minus the " "

    You will then have to run your own speaker wire to the rear of the car. connected to the pins in the illustartion. As I could find the oem connector 2 mini spade connectors will work fine connecting the sub to the speaker wire. I now enjoy rich bass on my basic sound system.

    let me know if you have any questions and a big shout out to Rajeev for helping with coding etc.

    Is this relevant for the 8V A3? How do you get to the back of the HU?

    yes this is, the brains for the headunit is in the glovebox. so you pull that out with radio removal tools and the quadlock connector will be behind that.

    im happy to answer anymore questions as I said I have done this mod myself.

    Hi, I've tried to do all of this, I bought a ready made cable, connected it to 9 and 13 pins on block, altered coding as above, got hold of a tested sub for spare wheel, restarted system and sub has no output. I am using the standard mmi, no sim slot on 2015 sportback. Any help really appreciated (head unit has B at end )
