Hi I have purchased a 2001 130bhp diesel newer shape passat comfortline and have a couple of issues. First, one of my brake pad sensors is gone, not sure which but will get it checked. My question is will a sensor off a 2002 1.6 petrol passat fit? Another question is my on board computer screen seems to only work the odd time. It stays off nearly all of the time except when brake pad warning comes on and once the warning goes off the outside temperature and mpg show for about 5 seconds and goes off again. What could be the cause of this. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Alex

Brake pad wear light on? That means you need to change the pads. The light cones on when the pads are worn there's no sensor as such. The display probably needs fixed. There's a few people that fix them 12 months warranty etc. Buying a used cluster seldom works out after you pay for coding etc it will be a similar age to the one you have. There's a place in Rathcoole and another in Newlands Cross that I know of that repairs them

Thanks, the pads seem to have plenty of meat left on them so i suspect its the sensor but I could be wrong. I was just wondering which ones would fit my model as in is there a difference in the petrol or diesel sensors. Thats actually not a bad idea, it works now but shows the wrong mpg and that but id say it just has to be calibrated. Thanks for your help!

there's a short wire attached to the pads it plugs into a socket. Check that it's dry clean connected etc. Pads I don't know what fits they're cheap so I just buy as needed
