Can somebody please tell me how difficult it is to upgrade the boot, bonnet and bumpers on a B5 pre-facelift model to a facelift model. I have not been able to find a thread or webpage that describes how easy or difficult this is to do. I have seen a facelift model with these parts in excellent condition as salvage and I am considering fitting them to my own pre-facelift model if it is easy to do so. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

One of our younger family members did this to the front end only of his car when his GF drove their B5 PF Avant into a wall! It can be done BUT, in addition to the parts mentioned above I think you'll need the front slam panel that the rad/air con condenser bolt on to, and of course the headlight clusters. I'm also thinking that the front bumper mountings are slightly different too. I could be wrong of course.
As for the rear. no idea, sorry

Adding to the above post, the bumper guides are indeed different, the front mounting tubes are the same.Depending on what year your vehicle is,the slam panel may be different,
98 on slam panels are the same as early facelift panels. One thing to watch for when fitting f/l bumpers to pre f/l is that you may have to relocate the horns, this is due to the fog
    light housing.
The other issue is,if you are keeping your existing front wings,is that to fit f/l headlights, you will need to grind down the inner lip that the current indicators locate on,and,of course,
obtain the h/light conversion harness kit. If,however you decide to change to f/l wings,be aware that the lower inner mounting brackets are different.
The bootlid should be a straight swap, but check profile, lock position etc.Not a lot of info around on this.
