If you can get access to VCDS, the computer can be adjusted to be more accurate. It looks like you are about 12% out which does seem high. Mine is about 8% out.

Any idea how to do that? It would be good to calculate it and get a true readout.

Hi Mitchy, this is lifted off another forum. Haven't tried it myself but will give it a go sometime. By the way, did you ever get the speed limit recognition? Cheers, Scott

Correct Fuel consumption in DIS (C7): (Revised)

    [17-Instruments]
    [Coding - 07] > [Adaptation - 10]
Scroll down about 20 items in the drop down list until you see something like fuel consumption adaptation - change the value from 100 to higher or lower:
Example - if your DIS is consistently off by 7% to your actual calculated mpg:
You RAISE the number to the percentage if DIS is OVER reporting mpg (i.e. 107)
You LOWER the number to the percentage if DIS is UNDER reporting mpg (i.e. 93)

That's great thanks. Got a 600 mile round trip tomorrow so will see what I get.

No never got traffic sign recognition working, looks like I need another module - and the wife says no! Really annoying though because I activated it for a forum member over xmas on a mk7 golf and it worked perfectly!

On board computer long term value is 39.1MPG while actual figure worked out by brimming it at the fuel pump is 37.7 over same period. 7617 miles at this stage. best I have managed is 50MPG on long journeys over 70miles.

Hi. Something must be wrong with mine. Just yesterday picked up my 2017 A7 Bitdi Black Edition. Traveled a 40 mile journey did not go over 85, had a few squirts on the A roads but nothing heavy. Only returned 26mpg. Is this because it's brand new and needs to be run in? Very strange considering the figures I have seen on here and that Audi quote. Even done a slow plod home from the station about 2 miles and it returned 24mpg. Any ideas why?

I have had a few new cars, and each one started calming down on consumption after 5k miles.

My E Class was hitting 25mpg for the first 5k, then jumped to 40 average afterwards.

My A7's figures over 15k to date are similar to others, 35mpg on 30 minute A road commutes & 40ish on motorway runs. My previous BMW320d did high 50s consistently over 65k no matter how hard I drove it - which was very close to the official figures.

Ok. Hopefully it will improve, it only has 75m on the clock. It's currently worse than my 4.4 V8 Range Rover that I have just sold. I am going to Northfolk for the weekend. A couple of hundred miles each way. Hopefully that will help. I will keep you posted. The figures you guys are talking about is what I was expecting.

Yeah it gets better. Mine was rubbish for the first 3-5 thousand but now gets 40 on a normal journey and just under 50 on a long motorway trip.
