    Suspension question for you.

I currently have an A6 (2012) 3.0 TDi which has "Sports Suspension" (lowered by 20mm). I find this absolutely fine so far as comfort goes.
I am about to order the 3.0 Bi-turbo and am considering the firmer "S Line Sports Suspension" (lowered by a further 10mm)

Has anyone got experience with the firmer "S Line Sports Suspension" on an A6? I would love to hear what you think please.

I have it on my BiTDI and its good. Feels really planted. The ride is fine (a little firm but not bad) and it looks that little bit better being slightly lower.

I have it on a 2014 A6 Ultra 2.0 tdi black edition (avant version), with the 20" 'RS' style alloys. It looks the business and is visibly lower than my colleague's A6 which is the BiTurbo saloon version of the same car, with the same wheels (but only the 20mm lowered suspension). Ride is great - very planted, little body roll, perhaps a bit firm on jiggly B-Roads (but not uncomfortable) but awesome everywhere else. I trucked down to the south of France in it this summer plus kids, wife and all our holiday stuff and there were no complaints from the back (and importantly no travel sickness). You don't say which wheels your current A6 has, but I previously had a 2012 A6 avant (177tdi) s-line with just the 20mm sports suspension and the standard 18" S-Line wheels and I found it to be too 'bouncy'....

Found the sports a little fidgety on B roads when running 20" with really stiff sidewalls - I've ended up ordering the S-Line Suspension with 20"

Is your current car an A4? I don't have a personal comparison, but I have a BE with 20" rotors on mine and a friend commented how it was a better ride than his BE A4. He said it didn't feel hard or uncomfortable like his A4 did.

I'll be going for the lower suspension next time as well. It feels just as smooth and planted as my old XF, so not worth ruining the aesthetics by going for a higher setting or smaller wheels IMHO.

My last three have been A4's 17" on sports, 19" on sports and finally 18" on sports. New car will be an A6 20" on S-Line set up.

    Evening all.

I've just taken delivery of a BiTDi Avant and went for the adaptive air suspension, based on the 1000 miles I've done in it this week on a mix of motorway and A roads I would thoroughly recommend speccing it as an option. On the motorway you waft along in comfort mode, get on to a nice twisty A road, select dynamic and it forms up nicely without becoming crashy.
On order, due October - Scratch that, now due end Nov!! - A6 Avant BE BiTDi - Daytona Grey, Adaptive Air Suspension, 4 Zone Climate, Lighting Pack, Rear Blinds, Colour DIS, Heated Memory Seats
