Firstly you need to open the boot and on the inside of the light you will see a bit of black plastic. pull it from the rear of the car and rotate it towards the boot and it will come off.

Then you will see two Hex bolts, undo them and then pull the light from the inside of the car towards the outside. Then disconnect the cable.

You will then have a connector like this.

You need to take it apart. To do this push the small pin shown above and then the connector will just drop out of the bottom.

You will then have a connector like this...

You then need to remove the pins and place them in the adapter provided in the kit. To do this just push the metal retainer shown below and pull the pin out.

You will then have a pin that looks like this...

To save getting them in the wrong order I placed them straight into the adapter as I removed them. Pin 1 goes into pin 1 in the adapter. 2 to 2 etc etc.

I was working on installing these this evening and unfortunately i damaged one of the pins, Pin two snapped in half as i was taking it out

Any idea if you can buy these metal pin connectors anywhere? I need to fix the one on the original wiring to get the module working properly now

    Not good

I've just found some on eBay. Searched for "Audi connector pins". They only came with the connectors too but I'm sure the pins alone are available.

I know, my bloody fat sausage fingers have no finesse for little jobs like this! I sent Ferdi an email asking him if he may have some info on where i could get these pins to repair. failing that ill just have to connect the wire directly to the matching pin on the module wiring loom

At chance you can solder it together as a temporary fix?

If I remember rightly, I removed the cable tie next to your thumb and peeled back some on the tape to give a bit more room to move the cables and pins
