Phoned Audi customer services and the good news is there is a software update. The bad news is, he had no idea how this would improve security.

The man at Abz Audi was a bit more forthcoming. As I understand it, the software is overwritten so that one must obtain a code from Audi Germany before a spare key can be programmed.

Got my car booked in for Wednesday 12th, hopefully no one steals it before then <LOL>

Well that was a complete waist of a couple hours of my life eerrgggg

Turned up to Audi Worcester as arranged to have my Software updated, they kept me waiting an hour drinking cups of coffee to then tell me that there has been a problem!! They don't actually have the update on their system!!! FFS why did it take them an hour to work that one out? They said that they hadn't done anything to my car?. but later driving away from the dealership I found that my Bluetooth for my phone had been disabled !!! I had to pull up and re-pair my device..... Bunch of monkeys.

Also I enquired about the price of an updated DVD for my SAT NAV MMI version 2.....?
£199.00 plus the VAT !!!! I'll think I'll stick with using my free app on my phone, bloody day light robbery. You could buy a SAT NAV from Halfords cheaper, like a quarter of that price.

Not happy, I don't know whether I'll even bother taking my car back there again :-(

Rang the audi hot line about security issues on my A4 DYNAMIK saloon. Audi told me that my vehicle was up to date and did not require any additional security updates but added this from thatchem security. In addition to the cars alarm/immobiliser you should

Park in well lit areas
Park in busy areas
Use your garage if applicable
Use a steering lock mechanism or
Gear leaver lock and or foot peddle locks

So that's a cop out from audi then yippy flaming do

My car was in with them a couple of weeks ago, quoted me for work that was needed, and removed the coding for the tow bar, I wasn't impressed either!

I phoned them yesterday about my car and was advised the vehicle is affected (B8 A4), but the patch for the UK models of the car isn't out for approx another 10 days or so. I've had my car booked in for free for the first week of december to update it.

Yes that's exactly what they told me after they had me booked in, I waited in the showroom for over an Hour drinking cups of coffee before they realized that the update wasn't on there system for another 10-15 days eerrrrgggg

I think its worth a phone call to my dealer to see if any updates are required for my new A4 Black Edition.

I'll post back when I get an answer.

Didn't get much joy from Audi Customer services really. They just told me that Audi always strive to better these systems on an ongoing basis.

That said , I contacted my dealer and they assured me that my cars' software was up to date and was at the highest level due to the car being only 8 months old.

Mine is going in. 22nd November.

Pretty straightforward, a call to Audi.... gave them details, 5 minutes later got a call back saying the software needed updating and offered me the earliest date.
