Does anyone know the range of production dates this crank pulley vulnerability affects? I mean I guess it's not all 3.0Tdi C6s?

I have seen the replacement dampers fail, it has to work hard to absorb the vibration and it gets hot.

Regardless of the revised part they will all fail at some point, even the C7 model suffer this issue.

    Hi all,
My crankshaft damper pulley went today on my 2007 A6 3.0 TDI le mans, just as I got near home coming back from Beaulieu Motor Museum.

Can anyone recommend what brand to get for a replacement?
    Is there an upgraded version?
Is it worth replacing any other parts during the repair?

    Thanks

Think I have found the oem version with the improvement for the 3.0 tdi. The newer version has rectangle imprints around the edge. if you look on ebay at the second hand ones the ones off the earlier modals are slightly different.

A rather expensive solution, but does anyone here have experience using a Fluidampr crankshaft pulley?
