    All,

Any recommendations, currently car is the 105BHP. Needing more power, mpg's are poor at around 50mg & loads of turbo lag compared to my 1.9tdi, not sure if Ive done the right thing by selling my 1.9td with 190k for £2500, used to get 70mpg on a run. It was the price that someone offered me so I took it!!!!

    Cheers

I looked into a remap for my 2.0 TDI. All VW cars 2009 have a tri core ECU so are more difficult to remap, ( be live they can't be done via the OBD port ) they have to remove the ECE and open it up, solder wires on to the board to bypass the encrypted write protection . Got several quotes , Celtic Tuning were the cheapest at £330, most wanted £400 +
I've got that 1.6 CR engine in my caddy and it needs. To be kept over 2k rpm to make it pull. Remaps are supposed to improve turbo lag and responsiveness , also MPG, averaging 50 mpg in the caddy, I got 58 mpg on a run down to Suffolk in the 2.0 TDI.
70 mpg I've never got near in either.
I would Google it though as there were reports that they were close to cracking the encrypted problem.
    2010 Golf 2.0 TDI GT 140 DSG , 5 door in white.

Several reputable remapping companies sponsor this website. Check with your insurer before getting any remap done.

    Hi,

thanks for the valuable info, will look into it abit deeper. Seems a lot of work an expense just for a gain etc, hopefully there will be a remap via the obd slot soon, happy with around £200 for a map via the obd port.
    Cheers
