Re: Google maps - send to car –

Given up on using Google maps on my pc to locate my destination and then sending it to the car. Too frequently the information that arrives is not known / incorrectly interpreted by the car.
E.g I use a post code to locate an address on Google maps, send it to the car which does not recognize the information ( don't know if it's a post code that is sent, a grid location or what) and the car decides to head for the centre of the town. It doesn't communicate the problem it's having it just does it.
I now just enter the info directly into the car. Even then there are a number of perfectly valid post codes the car doesn't know about and have to go through the rigmarole of entering the town and then the street.
Have to say not very impressed with the satnav, picks clearly sub optimal routes, does not re-route when stuck in traffic when there is a perfectly viable alternative route and if you have the voice guidance muted there is no indication that it has re-routed due to traffic. Oh, and the maps are really out of date, roads that have existed for several year are missing.
