What OS is the device you're connecting the cable to running?

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

    Win 7 Starter. 32 bit.

Spoke to the father in law last night and he said it was off ebay but through a Rosstech - i didnt know Rosstech dealt through ebay... so was thinking its just a user with the same name. So im suspecting its not a genuine cable.

Trying to get one of the chaps from the forum to come scan it tomorrow.

Well good news, got the van scanned tonight by S7GPT (thanks again). Vagcom brought up a knock sensor intermittent fault. Dont know if this was an old fault or not.

S7GPT cleared the faults and they didnt come back and the short journey home the EML didnt come back on.

Fingers crossed it stays away. But my mind at rest though.

Missed your first reply there, sorry - you should have no issues with Win7 and VCDS.

Version 11.11.x (can't remember the specifics) came with a firmware update for the cable.

I suspect you have a 3rd party cable which is why nothing is working. Does it have a version number on the cable?

    Hi mate, no worries.

Ive used Win7 before but on an older version of Vagcom. The forum member i went to last night was using the same cable i had and it worked fine. Apparently its a driver issue. Will try sort this.

Ok, seems as if the problem or another problem has come back. Jumped in the van today, drove half a mile down the road and the engine light came back on and the coil light flashed - van went into limp mode. Pulled over immediately and turned ignition off and back on, no more light, normal power resumed. Drove to destination and back home, about 30-40 mile round trip, its was fine.

Going to have to get it scanned yet again.
