Hi folks i was wondering if anyone know what engines would fit into a mk1 golf cabriolet. It's a 1.8 petrol auto ex engine code. My friend wants to keep the auto box.
    Thanks in advance

You can fit many engines into the Mk1 but any engine apart from the one originally fitted will take effort, fabrication skills and money. It would depend on how good the Mk1 was and the budget. I have done a few on different cars over the years and TBH I wasted a fortune with little other than "I proved that was possible" to show for it.
