    Well guys and gals,

As much as I adore my 2005 Passat S TDi 130PD the time will be coming next year if I can scrape some cash together for it to be on its way. I'm fed up with contending with trivial little problems such as rear locking. Rattle. Difficult starting when hot. Clutch slip with new clutch.

My plans are to go for a 2007-2009 A6 3.0 TDi Le Mans Quattro S-Line Avant Manual of around 60k mls at the minute. Can anybody shed any light on this car? Opinions, experiences, common problems etc for me so I can make a definitive decision?

    Cheers
    Mini

    Keep the Passat.

If you think the Passat is dear to keep/repair wait till you see the repair bills for a A6.

if you have clutch slip with a new clutch then its hardly the fault of the car and either a fitting error or faulty new part.

It's not the cost. It's the constant daft little faults bud. It's just not been looked after previously and I'm sick of having to worry about whether or not I'm gonna get another month out of it or not :/

Daft little faults are expensive daft little faults on a A6. If you get a bad one it'll break your heart and your wallet 10x over.

Yeah I know what you mean with clutch. I'm suspecting the slave cylinder as wasn't particularly "fresh" when I did the clutch but haven't got around to replacing it yet. Too busy and need the car too much. Does a lot of miles.

Yeah I just thought a newer car might have been a bit more reliable for a while. It's electrical faults that are starting to get to me if I'm honest. And constant rattles.

Believe me if your MMI goes south you're in for a shock, glowplugs, intake manifold runners, 20-30mpg.

Are the Newer Audis really that bad for faults? I always thought they had a good reputation?

They're prone for faults, unless you have a really good warranty (ie audi extended) and not aftermarket I would reconsider your choice.
