VCDS Help needed

I have an a4 with rnse and my battery died and I don't have the code, I have been told the only way to get the serial number on a rnse is with vag-com!!!any help would be greatly appreciated plus beer tokens of course, if any one knows gazza007 please send him a nudge for me as I believe he lives round the corner,i haven't made 10 posts so cant pm him Thanks for any help

VCDS won't provide the security code. Call into Audi and they will get it for you.

Just take the unit out with 4 removal keys? Serial number is on that.

VCDS will give you the serial number, yes, but won't give you the security code.

I have had the unit out and apparently Audi don't put the serial number on the rnse units that's why I need it getting with VCDS so I can then get the code,bit of a PITA, any one in the Manchester area that can help.

Just go to Audi direct? They'll get the code by plugging the car in.

The serial number is also shown at the bottom of the pin entry screen. Begins AUZ iirc.

All sorted now quick trip to Stockport audi £10 lighter but now I have my code, also had the transport lock for the nav disc disabled but once I got home and turned off the car and back on again it's locked in again!!!thanks for the help guys
