Hi, I have a 2.0 140 2008 audi a3 remapped to 180bhp by r-tech. To start with I had a amber flashing glow plug light come on it flashes all the time the engine is running, few days later the engine warning light come on but stupidly I continued to drive it two and throw from work. About a month on from that the dpf light has come on! I have had a dynastic on the engine light and have been told it's 'Po544 exhaust gas temperature sensor' are these problem related? When I had it mapped I was told that it may affect the dpf and cause it to fail but was unlikely, so is this the start of my dpf failing? Or maybe isit just a faulty sensor? Iv tried dpf clearer and didn't seem to help. I'm a bit stuck as to we're I take it from here, can anyone help??

    Many thank rids

    Hello and welcome.

The stock 170bhp engines do seem to be prone to DPF problems, so I'm not surprised that you were advised this by the mapping company.

Now that it is in limp mode though, you need to get it looked at by a VAG specialist who has VCDS for diagnostics (I'm in east kent and know of a couple of good VAG specialists in this area). I'm no mechanic, but I think that it is the DPF which has caused the limp mode and given that this has happened a month later, I think that your DPF problems are separate.
However, have a read of this thread (in full): http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-s...limp-mode.html There isn't anything more that I can add to that thread as the info in it is accurate, and the original poster is correct that when the DPF light does come on, you shouldn't thrash it, but follow Audi's advice for re-generation, otherwise it will (and sometimes still does) go into limp mode.
