Next month I'll be doing around 3k miles on our annual trip to France. Looking at the service indicator I'm rather confused as to what I need to get done before I go.

According to the display there are 1600 miles to an oil change and 3100 to a main service. Does this mean that if I have an oil change now it will need to go back in when we return from France for a main service or will the "mileage to go" change when the oil service is done?

I have Audi Complete so not bothered about the cost. I've also asked them to change all 4 tyres as they are getting towards the minimum and I suspect with a fully loaded car the wear will increase.

Why not just get the oil and inspection done at once?

My A3 usually turns out like this mileage wise and get both done to save a return trip and it works out cheaper anyway.

    Thanks Chris

It does seem a bit bonkers that the software doesn't just match them together. To have them only 1500 miles apart is silly. It will be interesting to see what Audi Complete have to say about it.

The car is 400 miles away from me at the moment so I don't have the service schedule to hand (Googling hasn't elicited any results) so I'm not sure what the difference beetween the services is. Do they change the oil at the inspection? If they do it might be worth delaying it until I get back as the car will be working hard for those 3000 miles so an oil chnage won't hurt.
