    Hi all, newbie here,

emissions light came on a few days ago, the next day the car was really slow, felt like it had no turbo. the problem isn't rectified by turning the ignition off then on again. tried unplugging the MAF sensor but that didn't improve anything so i re connected it and took it to an independent vag specialist to have it scanned today. fault codes came back as:
CODE 16485 P0101 AIR MASS METER
    CODE 19587 P3131 EGR VALVE
garage says it'll be £450 to replace both parts, however I'm skeptical as to whether both parts have broken at the same time. could i have caused the air mass meter fault code by disconnecting it? (im assuming air mass meter means MAF)

    cheers

    alex

yes, if you unplug the AMM and run the car you will introduce a code, so you need to clear the codes and recheck them to find the correct codes.
