Enable Online Traffic Data

Went and got a new card today from Vodaphone. Unfortunately not been able to try it yet as it can take up to 24hrs for the activation to be done....if it works, it will be interesting to see if that will work in France!

I’ll need to look into my next card soon.
I think I spoke too soon when I said the three one just keeps giving. 18 months now and I get a text saying it’s gonna run out next week.
Not too bad. A quid a month still.

My subscription now seems to automatically renew - I applied by email 2 years ago and got an extension for a year. i checked today and its been renewed again all on its own...

Got my new Vodafone card up and running (took over 28 hours to activate...). Looking forward trying it in France on next trip, in 2.5 weeks.

Weird thing is, it connected to the online svs quicker than the o2 card, in less than a minute with full LTE cover. Not bad!

Ok, so now I have been able to test my cards in France.....

1. o2 card still wont work in France. Even trying manually to select their partners in France made no difference in connection. PAYG card btw. Works everywhere else.
2. Got a Vodaphone PAYG card. Works perfect in France. In fact, connecting to online svs and LTE network is much quicker than the o2 card.
3. Got a 2nd card from Vodaphone though work to use my data allowance that we already have. Works perfect!

End result = have binned the o2 and Vodaphone PAYG cards and will only use the contract SIM from work as it works very good and the coverage seems to be much better anyway.

Thanks for the update. Think my GifGaf will have to go and get a voda prepaid data sim off Amazon.

Hi All. Where do you get your prepaid sim's ? Amazon, e-bay or other. I am looking to change from Gifgaf (O2) to Vodafone or 3 which appear to work ok in France for traffic data. I only need a data sim as use phone for any calls. Any links or suggestions would be welcome, I am UK based by the way. Thanks in advance. Wine run coming up......

Amazon sometimes has great deals.
Look for prepaid data sims. I’m about to get a new sim so if I find any I will post the link.

One place would be carphone warehouse or a Vodaphone shop.
