    Anyone had starting issues on the 3TDi engine. Been taking ages to start for a while but intermittently too. Changed fuel filter but still doing it and tonight its just died on me 300yds from home. Car has 1/2 tank of fuel and first time its died completely. Looks like no fuel getting to high pressure pump, yet lift pump was replaced last year when it first started playing up
    1986 Coupe quattro, (looks standard but hides 420bhp 20Vt).
    2004 A4 2.5TDi (163bhp) Sport cabriolet. Economy remap to 180bhp.
    2011 A5 Sportback 3.0TDi S-Line manual.

    Fuel regulation fault, pressure could not be achieved.
    Noticed also that clear line to high pressure pump is empty so think fuel pump in tank has gone.... Getting it towed to garage today...

    What was the fault code? Seems like thats the problem anyway.

    Based on the amount of fuel I can get in the tank when filled up, I wouldn't trust the fuel gauge or DIS range at anything below 100 miles with a 3.0 TDi!
