my 3.0tdi 05 a8 has developed a heavey misfire/judder on idle if you rev is you can clear it and it smokes badly also (white) everything lead to injectors .

I've recently changed injectors myself coded ect via vag com but still no joy no fault codes

Only think I have noticed since I changed em is that group 72-77 won't give me any sort of reading ..... I.e all sit on 0.0 does this mean I've done something wrong ?

Group 13-14 still give me a reading

I just want to fix this now as it's starting to cost me a few ££££££ and only owned it 3 weeks

Any ideas what elce it could be as the injectors where removed from a fully working car any help would be great cheers Scott

If you code the injectors, then they go to 0.0 (factory calibrated) so that is normal and they then adapt over time as they wear.

Did you use new injectors? re-adpting old ones back to zero would cause this.

No these where good used ones mate only other thing I've noticed is that cyl 6 in at like 5.02 and cyl 4/5 are around 0.43 roughly . Although it don't matter what injector goes in 6 it always runs like that . I'll get proper read outs of 13-14 today and post em up

That could be the problem. The codes printed on the injectors are the factory calibrations - if you fit used ones and then revert back to the factory calibrations after they have been used for a number of years then they will be out.

Could it be a lack of compression? Did the car develop this while you had it or did you buy it like this?

Car developed this about a week ago I bought it after doin all the checks ect that I found for common problems but guessing I didn't check good enough .

So does this mean that the second hand injectors a rendered useless then ? Or can they be adjusted manually ? Cheers Scott

Try unplug coolant temp sensor or fuel temp sensor while car is running, if misfire stop then injectors gone.

It might be worth searching for threads by gupsterg - he had similar trouble with his A6 which may be useful.
