I've had the excellent Kenwood DNX 520 VBT satnav head unit in the family Passat for the last couple of years and I'm really pleased with it, especially over the standard VW head unit. The sound quality improved immediately but is still let down by the speakers.

We've got a 2006 B6 Passat estate and I'd like to see about upgrading the front speakers at least. I'm not exactly sure what the spec or size of them are though, or how easy they are to upgrade. We have the 2.0 TDI Sport model so I think it's an eight speaker fit.

i don't mind spending up to £200 to get two pairs for the front or even do the whole thing. This isn't a big job, it's the family car, but we'd just like a decent sound quality with no subs or amps.

From Kenwoods website it seems to have 4x 50 watt output, so I think plenty to drive the speakers.

Has anyone done this or similar? Would anyone recommend a range and size of speaker?
ideally I'd like to fit it myself if it's a straight swap.
any other advice appreciated.
