New to the forum (have introduced myself in the new member section) I thought I post some details of my new car that's been on order since end of January.

Being originaly very much of a Volvo man (still have a classic one + wife's new V40), I was never particular pleased with the fact that they do not offer a performance diesel engine (ie 6-cyl etc etc) but luckily other makes do! Having then tried Bmw here in Germany I got myself a taste of their customer svs + a really bad car I decided never to buy another Bmw again! Went to Audi, got wonderful customer service, a fantastic treatment and a very long and extended test drive in a A6 Avant 3.0 Tdi (204Bhp) Quattro. Great car/engine combo btw.

Having lived in the UK for 15 years and in Germany since 2010 I have noticed that there are some differences between the two markets....see for yourselves in the list below showing all options taken. Really amazing that some of it are not standard.

    Audi A6 Avant 3.0 Tdi Quattro Bi-Turbo.

Audi has now confirmed that my car will be produced in week 16 and I'll collect it from Neckarsulm (NSU) on Friday 25/4. A great experience that doesn't cost the earth as one has to pay a delivery charge anyway so are treating myself to a night at a 4* hotel and rental car one way to NSU.

    Can't wait!!!

Welcome, sounds like a good spec, thankfully us in the UK get most of that as standard on S-Line and Black Edition trims.

Yes, I think the option list is longer than the standard list

Same goes for Bmw and MB over here!

Well despite the 'lean' spec in Germany as standard you seem to have made up for it big time - that is a heck of a nice spec!!

Have you not driven the BiTdi yet.. just the 204? Oh my you are in for a surprise
A6 allroad BiTdi (MY14, July 2013 - DAB & power tailgate). Glacier white, tech pack (HDD Nav, colour DIS, Parking Plus), sports seats, 4 zone climate, heated seats front and rear, ambient lighting, 75L fuel tank, adaptive Bi Xenon headlights

I am sure it's more than adequate and I think I may notice a difference from my F11 535D (300Bhp) that actually felt rather slow at times (even though it wasn't!).

The problem here in Germany is that unless a car of this "caliber" is specced to the brim, it will be difficlut to sell on. The 535D was the same, almost no options left in the list - but who doesn't love their toys?!

But if all them are options then the price must be a lot as half them here are standard. Unless cars are cheaper in Germany

Looking at the German configurator, car prices and extra spec is quite expensive. Is it easy to get a decent discount from a car dealer? Are there many car brokers available?

True if you use the dealer website. The price is a lot but that's the same here as well, they don't show any discount here just not sure if that's the same in Germany. As no one would pay the main dealer website price here or shouldn't

My car is a 3 year business lease (like about 85% of cars here) and came out to about €90K which is £75K in today's money which is probably slightly more expensive than in the UK. But lease price dictates and my car was €446/month cheaper than the eqv CLS, €550 less than eqv new 535D and only €78/month more than a fully specced V70 D5 (excl VAT). Btw, the online Bmw price and lease rate is a joke!

I received a 11.5% discount and top customer service

My deal also include 3 years of service (excl tyres), EU breakdown cover, FULL comprehensive (Vollkasko in German) insurance and free loaner for any warranty work + 3 days loner/year for service issues. Pretty good I think. One problem with Germany is the law that only give consumers 2 years of warranty instead of 3 like in the UK. Got caught out on the Bmw costing me thousands.....

The dealer price were no-where close to the online price....

I am sure there are car brokers, but TBH, I have no idea. I simply went to nearest Audi dealer who are around the corner from office or home.

Anyhow, I am pleased and can't wait for the new car nor the factory collection. Done it once from the UK when I collected a brand new C320 Cdi in Bremen
