Yet another DSG question..but cant find an answer... DSG Compatibility?

Hello All,

Got this tricky problem / opportunity!..lol.

We have a 07 A3 DSG 170. BMN engine and KMW DSG box. Mecha has gone **** up!..having paid someone silly money to fix it..they havnt!..

I want to change the box, but finding it tricky to get the box with the same code. I know these boxes are compatible, I just don't know which code box I can use.. I was told entire K series would work, or a box from TFSi also...but I need some proper opinion chaps. Happy to pick a box up from you if you have something that can help!..

Why are you changing the gearbox? Just fix the problem by taking it to an Audi specialist!

I gave the mechatronic to someone to fix.. I had to resend it twice and still it has come back with pressure solenoid n217 problem. It's hectic, draining oil, removing the mecha., etc. The guys said they can try again, but getting a bit tired doing that! So thought I'd just get another box!..

What ya reckon?..

Yupp.. Apparently.. Getting the mecha repaired is a bit of hit and miss anyway. I don't know.. May resend it. 3rd time lucky I hope.. But I'm sure there are plenty of boxes out there that are compatible!.

Yupp. It was. Apparently it is a bit hit and miss repairing the mecha.. May be third time lucky I hope. But I'm sure there must be plenty of boxes out there that are compatible!..
