    Hi everyone,

I've just bought a A3 1.9tdi sport hatchback 2005. Everything works apart from the exterior mirrors. They won't adjust or heat.

I have tried to locate a fuse but unless I'm blind I can't see where it's located.

Please can can anyone offer some advice as to what might be wrong with them?

    thanks in advance

    steve

Check the fusebox on the end of the dashboard behind the pop off panel on the driver side.

There will be a diagram on the back of that, is be getting a scan done also.

Oh and check the wiring going from the car into the door for cracks or splits.

Cheers Chris, I looked in the fuse box but it doesn't say anything for wingmirrors, I've also looked in the fuses under the bonnet. Wires are all intact, it's a strange one because all the things that I've read about suggests that when the mirrors stop working so do the electric windows.

Could it be the control switch?

Switch could be an issue but a scan will show what's up.

Use vcds with measuring blocks to check the switch positions are being seen, power is supplied via the door module.
