As far as I know if they are broken its because the diaphragm ruptures, in which case it would either not hold the full pressure in, or would just constantly vent the pressure and you would subsequently loose some of/all of the effect of the turbo.

I don’t believe it could actually stick closed, in which case your turbo would shatter because as soon as you eased off the throttle and the turbine had stopped spinning (lets say clockwise) the pressure not vented would immediately start it spinning the other way (anti-clockwise).

Ah, doesn’t sound like yours may actually be broke, sounds like you’ve got a chavy ‘Atmospheric’ DV rather than the standard fit and preferable ‘Recirculating’ DV.

Speak to Forge and tell them what engine you’ve got, what power its pumping out (or is likely too for the foreseeable future) and ask for a decent Recirculating DV.

In which case replace with either a new OEM, or an upgraded one from say Forge.

Original Equiptmant Manufacturer, Standard one in other words.

    DV's do not increase BHP.

Did you notice any difference when you fitted a panel filter and did it make any difference in sound.

I found this on mine, so i ordered a induction kit from jabba, the wires you are on about go to a temp sensor( i think )so it has to be mounted by the filter mine goes on the metal panel which stops the heat getting in the filter. I aint had any probs yet, and i'm sure the BMC set up should work well with the sensor fitted close by.

I had the same problem, no one wanted to tell me what it was for thats why i went to jabba sport. But knowing what i know now i would have gone for the BCM. Good luck.
