Hi all l wonder if anyone can help the speedo on my mk3 golf has died and despite tinkering l am at a loss. I have tried an alternative console to no effect, changed the sender unit on the gearbox and still l am doing 0mph wherever l go. l believe this may be a common fault thus should have a common fix but l am at a loss and running the SP30 risk on a daily basis (when l get to the motorway its HGV plus 400 revs and l think l am about right!!) So any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hi,

had the same problem with my mk3 golf speedo
I also changed the gearbox sender unit, still zero mph

When I removed the speedo cluster to have a look, I found that the
solder joints at the multi connector to the circuit board had dry joints.

A quick re-solder of these pins and speedo now working

saved sending it away to cluster repairs . com

    kerso
