Update - called in to see ******* Transmissions today and had my gearbox serviced, took around 2 hours or so.

Had no real issues to be fair, perhaps a small lurch from 1st occasionally but smooth other than that. I'm not sure if its my imagination but it seems smoother, the lurch seems to have gone and the changes maybe just a little quicker?

I had the opportunity for a mini factory tour lead by the various heads of dept and all I can say is wow, really really interesting and in depth. There's clearly been a lot of investment in equipment and many years of knowledge and experience onboard.

I have some issues with my rear diff ( apparent when I bought the car and accounted for ) and it will be going back in to get this resolved shortly.
Thank you ******* for a job well done.

    We have set a date of 29th March 2014 from 10am - 12pm

That name rings a bell. Would this be the same company that use the machine of legend (over on other A8 orientated forums) Namely the sucky, squirty pumpy thingy? Made in Canada I think. It connects via the lower tansmission cooler pipes and then extracts heats and replaces the transmission fluid. if so they did my old A8 4.2 5 speed transmission, they also removed, cleaned and re-painted the gearbox sump, and renewed the filter at the same time. Brilliant company to deal with.

I was delighted with their standard of workmanship the autobox was as smooth as silk after they serviced it. Shame then that the car was totalled a fortnight later, I was stopped at a level crossing when a girl in a Volvo XC90 rammed me up the rear!! It seems that she was trying to text at about 40MPH I almost committed GBH that day!

Thanks Green A8..........Yes, they are top notch, great operation and can save owner / enthusiasts some £££ for sure.

Nearly tripped over a 45 gallon drum of Lifeguard 6 oil there too, more than a few £££ in that alone

The tour will be limited to a total of 30 I'm afraid though, so it'll be first come first served.........I am hoping to get some type of forum member discount too

I'm also thinking for afterwards, any of those that are interested, we could head on over to The Innkeepers Lodge at Strathclyde Park, this is a Toby Carvery and offers a carvery meal for £5.99
There should also be ample parking and would be a good opportunity to discuss the days events and a chance to get to know other members.

Provisionally here from 1pm until 3pm

Update - One of the members may be trying to get their gearbox serviced on the day. I'm not 100% sure if this is possible as they do not usually work a Saturday and will be opening up especially for our visit.

^^^It was me but opted against it as they:

    1) Only do a full fluid and filter change for £275
    2) Only use LifeGuard 6 and I have pentosin in from my change from Bristol Transmissions

So will opt for just the fluid alone from Bristol Trannys using Pentosin and they've quoted me £125, not bad considering the fluid alone will cost £63.

I can do that date, however will have to factor in weather/fuel/hotel costs (as don't fancy doing the 800 miles round trip in a day).
