I have just scanned my car as other half said something wrong and below codes came up.

Now the glow plug issue i have put off and I know about but the V157 issue is what i need some advice on. I plan on ordering a new part from TPS next week and presume it is just remove the old and put in new one. GSF seem to do one but is over £200 and will see if TPS can do cheaper.

Also the fan issue as i have been reading seems to be linked to the V157 issue and possibly be a faulty fuse. The car shudders a lot when stopping so guess it is definitely knackered.

Any help on either of these issues is much appreciated.

Fan is on same fuse so when flap failed, the fuse blew. Fit new flap and replace fuse. Flap can be repaired but it is very difficult and you need a spare one for parts so it's not really worth the effort. Especially as they mostly all break in the same way. so the bits you need from a spare flap are already broken.

Martin, you sound as though you have previous experience of repairing this V157 Manifold Flap.
Is there anything that can be done to a working unit to prevent it failing in the future ?
What is it that fails ?
Any heads-up would be appreciated.

Dont suppose you know what fuse number it is. I am just going to get a new one I think. Havent got a spare. Seems like plastic cogs could be issue

Sounds about right for a £200 unit.
According to Martin's excellent site https://sites.google.com/site/1810martin/passat-b6-fuse-assignment
it's Fuse SB23 in the engine bay left fuse box.

They suffer from blown motors, plastic cog breakage etc. No one single fault But cog breakage is very common. There isn't much you can do to prevent future failing. Keep fingers crossed!!
