VCDS can only interpret faults based on voltages and other electrical inputs. If a module is damaged by excess voltage VCDS will register what it thinks the problem is. It is not A.I. so not clever enough to actually tell you what is EXACTLY wrong, you have to do some detection work to narrow down the possibilities until you are certain you KNOW what is wrong. This may involve electrical diagrams, visual inspections, testing of associated parts and so forth. Some fault codes are extremely specific to certain conditions, others a little more vague. The dealer however renews parts at the customer's expense until the fault clears and does not come back - this can get very expensive as most know and does not always eliminate the cause.

I will upgrade module to h suffix. This might be the best solution because older versions are being effected from low voltages and getting damaged. I replaced c series button but nothing has changed. So this is not a button fault issue. Thanks.

From memory I believe H modules should be ok and are not too new for the car as they will still be before the change to 30 byte, from 23 which start with the J revision. Older cars will not communicate with the newer 30 byte modules.
