Common issue. Had the same with my old CC. Just get a gps antenna on eBay for 20£ or so and connect it to the head unit instead of the original one, 5 minute job. You can leave it attached underneath the dashboard where the head unit cables are.

    Edit: it’s actually 6£

Is there a DIY guide on how to remove the head unit? Would i need to plug in the antenna?

Thank you for the quick response and link.

The plastic frames just pops out if you use some plastic tools. Then unscrew 4 screws and unit slides out. There is a plenty tutorials on google on how to remove VW Passat/CC head unit.

You can also try VW CC forum section....

Today my car had the same issue, the position was lost in a very bright, sunny day. Apart from this, the system works fine. Tried the factory reset for the Navigation settings, but I had no success. Is there any "hard reset" for the GPS/NAV, or any check to see what's the problem?

I also wish to ask, is the above mentioned "additional GPS" works for an A6, or it's for a VW only solution?

I tried to check for the avaible SAT number, but I haven't found the "number of satellites" in any menu. I knew it existed in my former C6 menu, but I can't find it in my current 3G+ MMI. Also, I tried a hard reset by removing the battery temporary, but I didn't found it in the trunk.

Can you help me out with the above issues?

Just change the antenna. They suffer from water ingress and this then leads to the module stating open circuit.

I couldn't figure out how to read the number of signals in my 3g+ without entering the engineering mode of the mmi

Yes, I was afraid, that will be the solution. Just tried an easier way.

Unfortunately the latest MMI update disabled the Green Menu

That's life, have to go to Audi. Thanks for the answers
