    Hi there,

I have a 1998 2.5 petrol T4 with a starting issue.(which has been unable to be diagnosed for 8 weeks now by previous mechanics including the dealership)

I have finally found a mechanic who is able to scan the vehicle.!!
The only drama i have now is that he is able to scan/read the whole vehicle except for the ECU.

He suggested it is more than likely an "earthing" problem, which he is waiting on a wiring diagram before commences work.

If anyone has come across this before or has any suggestions why the ECU is not being picked up on the scan, please feel free to comment.

    Many thanks.
    J.

Ask him to check measuring block values within the cluster module. Check channel 125. This shows communication status to other modules. See if it sees the ecu. check fuses. Usually when the module goes bad it blocks other comms until removed
