Why is it that my new griffin iPhone 5 charger works in EVERY vehicle except my 2009 B8.
It seems like the B8 has a very deep 12v charger socket compared to other vehicles and only some charger work.
I have a really cheap usb type charger which is long and it works fine but the new Griffin one has the sort of telephone tangled cord so it is nice and short for the arm rest.

Can the socket be swapped out to a shallow one or has anyone ever got round this?

Have you tried the 12v socket at the back of the centre console?

Hi, would something like this twin socket converter help? The stem looks longer on this one than on others on the web. You could plug this into the car power socket and plug your phone charger into it. You also gain another power socket as well.

Or this one, that has a "depth adjustment ring" (no giggling at the back!)

Yes I tried all 3 sockets and none work with it.

I plug in my £2.99 usb one and it works fine.
