My gear indicator light is flashing (dsg 6 speed 2005 2.0) only bought car today drove 50miles home fine upto 90mph (gave it a good drive) anyhow thought I'd google what the flashing meant.

Seems it could be the gearbox ecu,is there anything else to check?

Car does seem to have a slight rumble when ticking over, reverse is a bit jerky but other than that seems to drive fine.its done a genuine 79k miles with service history till 55k,is it worth changing the dsg oil?

If trade then take it back.

Needs a fault code scan done. DSG fluid should be done every 40k.

Never flashed up when I tested it,having had trouble with head gasket failure on other vehicles I didn't pay as much heed as needed on the gearbox, hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Check some of the other threads, sorry to be voice of doom but had this with my 2004 A4, needed ecu replacement (£1000). Gearbox rebuild 20k later but may be unrelated. If you can return or discuss, I would....

Well the prnds never flashed up again after I posted on here

I did however replace the dmf and have it fully serviced and it's been fine till this week when the emissions light has come on.
